PJ's and upcoming projects

Hellooooo!  I'm back from a 2 week trip and getting all settled back at the casa.  Lots of fun with laundry, bills and unpacking, yuck.  But great to be back with my bed and sewing machine and sweet dog!

Before I left, I continued with my Colette pattern affair, making a couple of the Madeline Bloomers.

I usually wear old yoga pants, or tatty knit skirts, or my husbands absolute favorite (not) my Asian printed pink pj pants. Now, I'm only 5'2" and these pants are cropped and have a really low crotch depth.  Basically they look awful on me, haha.

I have a bunch of stash fabric and these bloomers are perfect for stash busting.

For obvious reasons, I'm not gonna model these, lol.

Of course, the first pair, with the pink flowers, I decided to go rogue and do things my way.  I omitted the casing on the leg edge and used 3 rows of elastic shirring.  They were kinda loose because of it, even after trying to shrink the elastic with some steam action, but I just don't care that much. And now, after washing and drying, they are perfect!

I found the crotch depth a wee short on the floral ones, so on the red polka dot ones I added 2" to the waist.  Other than that I did exactly as the directions suggested.  Must say though, I'm not a fan of the ribbon casing. It just feels a little tight. Maybe I should just cut a longer length of ribbon?  Hmmm.

Needless to say, these get a big thumbs up from the husband. I'll probably make more, and do the elastic on the legs again.

And a sneak peak of what's next!!  I'm SO excited to be home and have my machine again.  Man, it is hard being away and not sewing.

Two vintage fabrics, and one new pattern (Birthday present to myself, thank you very much!)

I'm gonna head to a rock show tonight to see the band, John Wayne Bro. I know I'm not supposed to sew on a schedule, but I really, really wanna finish the purple flower skirt for tonight, we'll see!

Off to cut into some fabric...
